Adios My Love.

Hi guys, I'm now blogging from http://kittynwong.blogspot.hk where I'm hoping to post more original content with things that I make and things that I draw. Follow me on there.
I will miss this blog dearly, it's been my little baby for the past five years but I'm a terrible blogger and could never keep up with two blogs.

xo.
All of luff.
Also, creep me on Twitter @kittynwong. #NoStalker

jubilee

“The Queen must never appear to be chic, for there is an unkindness to chic, and Her Majesty must never appear to be unkind” - Hardy Amies, British Vogue.

Happy Diamond Jubilee! I was in Taipei, my friends and I celebrated by talking in very inaccurate British accents for the day, and because we couldn't resist for a few days after as well.

green hands

 This is what I've been so busy working on for the last few months. In early March, I sent in my submission for the Redress Ecochic Design Awards and was chosen to be one of the 12 semi-finalists! I was ecstatic and got to work right away. We had just over a month to create from scratch two eco-friendly outfits: one from upcycled fabrics and the other using a zerowaste technique. That's my inspiration board at the top; my theme was 'Memory & Forgetting'. And then you have my sketch ideas for the two outfits and the proposed pattern for the zerowaste garment which is that greyish double skirted dress.

We just finished the semi-final judging a few weeks ago and we're still waiting on the results so very eagerly. In addition, we did a workshop at the K11 Art Mall to show people how to make upcycled scarves to generate some PR interest. But most importantly, to get people to vote for us for the People's Choice Award! Click here to check out my stuff and to VOTE FOR ME! It's open worldwide and you just need an email or Facebook account.

Painted Lady

Oh hai there. No time no see. I just came here to post this little nugget of gem. My two great loves are probably fashion history and Youtube makeup tutorials, the latter being an endless late night guilty indulgence and Lisa Aldridge just combines the best of it all in such an appealing and informative way. Also, isn't her dress darling?
Also, also, while we're on this topic --there's this makeup exhibition coming around to Hong Kong for French May, so if you're around these parts you should check it out. It's free and at Pacific Place.

So, tell me who are some of your favourite Youtube gurus?

Razors pain you;
Rivers are damp;
Acids stain you;
And drugs cause cramp;
Guns aren’t lawful;
Nooses give;
Gas smells awful;
You might as well live.

travelogues

Inspiring! Lucy Knisley on graphic travelogues. She does a great little tutorial on homemade sketchbooks special for travelogues too in the video.
I'm really getting into graphic novels lately, I asked for Alison Bechdel's Fun Home for X'mas, it's coming in the mail, I can't wait to read it!

Speaking of drawing, I'm still on that 30 Day Drawing Challenge, I just took a break for the holidays. I love breaks!
