Mac See Pad

Facebook iPad conversation.
Someone: Barely a weak MacBook even... no multitasking, no camera. It's just a big iPod touch with 3G (for an extra hundred and some odd dollars)... Reminds me of when companies make oversized remotes for old folks with poor vision...

Me: Yeah, but is the iPhone as absorbent?

My most win iPad comment to date?

Forget All About Equality, Let's Play Master + Servant

Julius FW 2011. I know everyone is sick of this dungeon master trend, but I would still give my first born to have the guts to dress like this everyday. These two looks would look so hot on girls, not that they don't look good here.

White Lighting

Can I haz white hair mascara? Do they even make them anymore? I should go to the special effects store today. I need these white streaks. So Daphne Guinness. Top pic is from Dior, the first seven looks this season were all sexy redingotes, bottom is Chanel. I'm doing a research project on riding habits for a class of mine, or as I like to say redingotes, its like an old French word, my favourite teacher said it one time in a lecture.

I wish this tie was slimmer, then I would make this my daily regalia, well, slimmer tie, bigger wallet.

No More Love to Rye

RO FW 10/11

Such good desktop background material.
I love menswear fashion week, especially this year, Tommy Ton (of Jak n Jil fame) has been doing a wonderful job over at GQ documenting all the stylish men during Pitti Uomo. It gets me so excited to see how into fashion these people are and such attention to detail too.
I'm loving Rick Owen's collection this season, he's moving into more of a structured slouch feel. It must be hard for him, there are so many other people trying to emulate him and we have definitely reached peak drapiness but he manages to keep growing while keeping the esscences of his brand.

The whole collection is really good, I just don't have time to post it. I'm so busy working on my thesis collection right now so I'll be MIA for a little while.
ETA. Sorry, such weird format, bare with me. I can't get this side by side picture thing to work.

Stoner Charms

James Franco is going to be on 30 Rock tonight! I cannot wait, he's so old movie star face + stone charms. I was having a pretty shitty day today, so many asslicks in the world. But its okay now, I just got a care package from my parents! It's a box of total awesome-ness! So many wonderful snacks. Also, there's this "super strength" Japanese lip gloss, more to come, I took pics. I'm watching New Moon online right now, oh I love you internets and Kirsten Stewart. Super excited about this Chloe movie, I love that its so unashamed of its Toronto location. Sex, lies and sexy ladies with sexy hairs.

Ch-Ch-Ch-Cherry Bomb!

I'm sure you guys have seen this, but I'm so fucking excited for this. Yes, more movies about women! Yes, Kristen Stewart hotness. I never understood why people liked to air drum until I blasted "I Hate Myself for Loving You" in my room, alone. Ahh, I can't sleep and I need to get shit done tomorrow.

Backprise

Prada. SS 2010.
This was a cute collection. I love the back on this dress. It looks easy enough to make, I should make one for myself. Making clothes for myself is something I haven't done since highschool, but I'm hoping to do it more because I know shopping at places like H&M is shit for the environment and for my social conscience. When I make stuff for myself, I kind of like to copy, I guess I'm tired of thinking of new ideas, but it also kind of feels like I'm buying the good stuff. And as Liz Lemon says " I deserve a treat"! Also, I can't stop listening to Lady Gaga! ha. I'm your biggest fan, I'll follow you until you love me... So good.

Here's Looking at You, Kid.

Happy New Year! If you're reading this, I may have already said that to you in person.
I love watching movies online, for the longest time it was Marie Antoinette and then it was Practical Magic. Tonight, I revisited Lost in Translation, I must have been too young the first time I watched it but now I'm realizing how beautiful of a film it really is. First of all style wise, Scarlett Johansson kills it as the poster child for the intellectual good–frumpy thinker. All the flats and shapeless sweaters; its making rethink my personal vendetta against skirts. Also, she is just so damn pretty. Beautiful shots of modern Japanese landscape. The soundtrack. Sofia Coppola really captures the feeling of alienation and loneliness when you are somewhere new, it kind of reminds me of the summer I spent in Vancouver.
I guess this is kind of late, but I wanted to do a list of the movies I couldn't stop watching this last decade, it wasn't until the last part of high school that I really started to get into the films, directors and styles that I began to admire and would have a major impact on me.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Science of Sleep
Amelie
2 Days in Paris
Adaptation
Being John Malkovich
Marie Antoinette
Alfie (only the Sienna Miller parts, but I seriously dressed tried to be an replica of her for the better part of the year I went to college at UCFV. I wish I had a picture.)
Almost Famous

It's a pretty generic list when I look back now, but at the time they felt so revolutionary in my world.

Other biggies of the decade:
The Cobrasnake
Living in residence
Crews and Tangos
Will and Grace
Friends (too 90's?)
Getting into Ryerson
Fashion and TFS (I used to say Dior HOME. I've come a long way)
Makeup Alley (The gateway into the forum addiction of my adolescences)
Cat Power
Feminism
Picking up The Power of Beauty on a whim, but then reading it and having it completely change the way I think, you should read it. It still affects me on a daily basis.
Coachella, the roadtrip there, California and freedom!
Garden State Soundtrack (so many tears. ha ha)
Brie and strawberry french toast
Discovering Southern France on a bicycle
Foie Gras
Backpacking
E
Horrible depression from the aforementioned.
Nexopia (Not because it had a big impact on me, but I spent so much time on there while in highschool. Its kind of like Myspace if you don't know what it is)
Winter Conference with my old church (so many hotties... seriously. All Chinese.)
Cosmo (50 ways to please your man)
Atheism (If I burn in hell its your fault Michael.)
Learning how to pattern draft
Going to Paris, it used to be such a distant dream.
Food blogs
The Balenciaga exhibition at Musee de la Mode

I'll stop here, but that was really fun. It's nice to bring back all those memories stored in your head. I feel so accomplished and I've just been lying in bed all day. And of course, I'm so thankful for all the great friends I've met this decade.
